You will not believe what I found!!

LABELS, how to make LABELS for internet searches. Apparently to broaden the scope of hits on internet searches, key words or phrases can be added.Sooo my website and blog are no longer limited to my words.

I have been harrassing my poor son and nephew for  info re 'tags', not understanding what I was really asking. I wanted to include special reference words that a web crawler or bot would pick up. We went round and round.

Yah like either one of them has nothing else to do right? I know they love me alot when they patiently put up with this senior (and this wasn't even a brain burp (lol)

Well, anyhowz, now I'm dangerous. I've gone back and been labelling all of the oldies posts. Created another all nighter. This one has been like a kid in a candy store.

Midnight in Twilight Zone

Well the mobile home at space #3 is now off the market.

My attempts to propogate the marshmallow plant seems to have been successful. After 4 different attempts, finally success. I repotted the cuttings last night and so far they seem to be doing well (very little shock).

Wouldn't ya know, in the middle of the night here I am spread all over my kitchen floor, towels and sheets all over, repotting many plants, glass of wine handy (of course)...... when a pipe burst under my kitchen sink. Water everywhere. All I could really do at that time of night was soak up the flood, turn off the water and, continue potting my plants.

Then,  of course, I spent a good part of the morning fixing the plumbing. hahahahaha me and a pipe wrench, never again.

more skunks, odor removal

here is some more info I found regarding odor removal, I wish I had this info the last few daze when my dog Kismet was sprayed face on and I was also sprayed the next night. my household was pretty sick for a couple of days http://icwdm.org/Publications/pdf/Skunk/skunkodorremoval.pdf

I had always believed that skunks were diggers, not climbers and, they mainly ate insects and grubs. Reading these articles really opened my eyes to their multitasking and diversity they will do to survive.

Also in this info re skunk behavior, the larger ones will go after, kill and eat something the size of an average cat or small dog. So, ever since the late night antics of the critters here I have a 4x8' lattice gate made that closes at sundown and it cuts off access to my back yard, I added lighting to the back and both side yards also (both of my dogs are really dark and difficult to see at night). Now both of babies are limited to one  side yard only and under my supervision.

Anyhowz I certainly learned valuable things on how to live with these 'cuddly' critters. Hope this helps you too

Skunks and my snowjob

Wll I am now researching my new tenant, the skunk. I guess I should hav done this a while ago. Any way here is a link from the Internet Center For Wildlife Damage: http://icwdm.org/handbook/carnivor/skunks.asp. This is really good info.

BTW I did a snowjob on my side yard and my neighbor Sandy's yard. Seeing as my new tenants like to stick their noses in the soil and dig (and do some real damage), I sprinkled Diatomaceous earth on our damp ground now we both have our private snow, it is really pretty. her is a link for info re DE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diatomaceous_earth . I did notice that neither of us had any nosings, diggings or attempts to next under my mobile home..... aaahhh PROGRESS!

+ my neighbor Deb suggested putting down chix wire to protect plantings from our foothill critters (we have just about every critter you can imagine that have been rendered homeless from the fires here in our mountains and canyons in the San Gabriel Mtns. in SoCal)

I'll bet you are wondering why

I'm putting so many links to my web site? Well, I don't seem able to get this darn header to accept the URL as a link, so I'll do it the hard way for now.

Here is the Home Page too: https://sites.google.com/site/grandmasmobilehomes/home

Skunk update

WOW I never knew a skunk would actually tear out skirting from the TOP! Yup that is what all that destruction noise was earlier this a.m.A whole section has been separated from my coach.... now what! hmmmm

btw good sales at my website: http://grannysmobilehomes.blogspot.com/

Whew last night Daddy skunk and now Momma this a.m.

My dogs, Kismet and Cookie, startled me awake with the sound of something (or someone) tearing apart the side or back of my coach. Of course, they sounded off (like good dogs do), and I'm hoping that my neighbors appreciate their vigilance. It 'is' only 4 o'clock

After Kismet getting a full blast of DADDY skunk aroma in the face the previous night..... this time I thought I was being clever and opened my back door (after turning on the lights). To my surprise, here is MOMMA trying to dig down somewhere around my back steps, on the porch, under or whereever.... she was in a panic.

Then I heard why, at least one baby was crying for her from a nest or something caught underneath my home. Didya know they sound just like puppies in distress? The baby(ies) were soo close I thought maybe I could move something heavy away  so she could get to it. But, momma did not appreciate or understand my efforts.......... not only did she spray me directly but also filled my whole area with her aroma while she sat a short way from her babies in distress. If I turned the light off and on again, she would move a foot or two then spray again.

Well now for the second night, myself and my dogs are pretty sick from the pew. And, I am spending a second night bathing, trying to get this stuff off. Luckily Kismet could get a haircut which helped immensely. But, I refuse to shave my head......... well maybe, it could be a fashion statement? Grey Panther Ms. Clean? LMAO  Just don't laugh very loud if you see me in lots of hats.

I'm sorry to my neighbors Sandy and Sandy, I know this had to be pretty bad for you too. And, to MOMMA, I did try. I plan to go out in the a.m. when it is light and check out that side of my home again (hopefully momma will have gone off somewhere).

More construction was needed on the web site, check it out!

Well, it does look like more work is needed. I'm sorry for disturbing ya'all with my error but, am so grateful to those of you who took the time to let me know about the problem. I am learning how to post a workable link to our Park's Newsletter. Hmmm maybe attaching it would work better than a link?.

As well I am still working on how to operate my new Nikon digital camera (so that I can post pix to accompany the sales listings on the internet) A picture is worth a thousand words, don't you agree?

Wow! this camera is nothing like the old Brownie box one is it? lol

March comes in like a lion...

This is certianly proving to be true. Wow, more rain last night. I set my seedlings and cuttings out for the healthy showers that the heavens provide. Everything looks and smells so clean and fresh.

All of this rain brings to my mind the summer rains in So Florida. A sign I was taught to look for was look at the trees and see the leaves actually turn silvery as they look up awaiting the pending showers.
